The OCBC (Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation) is a company that offers support to young and talented students through scholarship awards, combined with internship and employment opportunities that help them develop and improve their skills.
The program is presented in two categories: the Local Undergraduate Scholarship and the International Masters in Public Policy Scholarship.
The first category is aimed to students who are eligible for or have already gained admission in a first-year undergraduate course (full-time) at the following institutions: National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, SIM University, Singapore University of Technology and Design and Bachelor of Music (Hons) at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. The scholarship is also opened to undergraduates of these institutions.
Singapore citizens have preference for eligibility and a high academic level along with great co-curricular records, community involvement, leadership skills, strong values of humility, integrity and respect will be taken into account for awarding the scholarship. Male Singapore citizens must have completed National Service.
The value of each award is of 11.000 USD per year. The possibility of getting an internship with the corporation is one of the great benefits of the scholarship, an excellent opportunity for acquiring work experience as well as the chance of being selected for an employment depending on your achievements.
Interns are often tasked with real-time projects under the guidance of a supervisor.
The International Masters in Public Policy Scholarship is offered to outstanding students from
Malaysia, China and Indonesia who intend to course their Masters in Public Policy at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
The scholarship covers tuition fees, health insurance, examination and other fees. Also, a monthly allowance of 1.350 USD is given for covering living expenses as well as two one-time allowances of 500 USD each for settling and book expenses. Shared housing and an airplane ticket from your home country to Singapore once you’re awarded the scholarship and from Singapore back home upon successful completion of the degree.
As with the local program, internships are also an opportunity for gaining work experience and employment is a chance based on your merits.

The scholarships offered by OCBC bank are bond-free, so there is no demand from the corporation to stay working with them.
